What are the routes that a 55 year old take to get back into reemployment?
Hi All,
I am enquiring for my mother who had to give up her job 3 years ago to take care of some family emergencies. She has only O Level certificate and her previous job was a clerk at a government agency.
What are the possible ways for her to get back to employment as long as it is not cleaning the toilet or clearing dishes at a hawker centre?
Thank you all!

may i know why you would want/allow her to work?
i thought govt. pays back from our CPF every month once we reach 55? Isn't it true?

55 years old without educational qualifications is not really possible to find non-manual labour work in Sg. Better you ask around friends & relatives see if anyone willing to close 1 eye and employ her as general clerk.

Can, but pay is really peanuts and need to stand long hours.

gg liao,
Old people very hard find "non-physical intensive" job like office entry (even if they are experts in msoffice)... sort of weird why employers in sg like to torture old people.
