Yup. All was discussed prior to the security clearance. The recruiter was so nice to update me on each progress, giving me the benefits list, hospital plan, grade and etc

Had been reading the forum while waiting anxiously to know what happens after 2 interviews with a SB. Sounds like no news may be good news at times. According to the ground wisdom, would you say that no rejection after 3 weeks may still mean something good?
The answer is probably to consult HR. Haha!

First of all which sb? It'll helps for accurate feedback.
Next, what position or type, ex uniform, tech related etc.
Now not all SB will send rejection letter.
After your final interview, did HR contact you? Did anyone express interest to process?

Usually, not all the time, if you are first choice, hr will call you few days after to tell you they are keen to further process your application. Happened to my case and several others in the forum.
The general advice is till the day you put the ink on the paper, keep sending resumes.
Good luck!

Thank you for the encouragement! Glad to hear that it proceeded well for you and hope you will enjoy what you will be doing next! It was radio silence for me after 2 interviews, and the wait had been 3 weeks and counting. But some signs (e.g. requesting for character referees shortly after first interview; and sharing more about the movement policy during the second interview (as I am in PS now)) kept me hopeful, even though as you mentioned, usually HR would inform within the week to express interest in processing the application. So I think I need to manage my expectation and explore other opportunities for now. Thanks again!

What do you usually answer when asked ‘are you applying for other jobs too’?

Movement Policy
Hi all, I’m currently at a statboard and just received an offer at another statboard. Job was applied via careers@gov. I am wondering if there’s such a thing as “movement policy” where my years of service in public sector is still retained and if there is how do I initiate it? Thanks in advance!

Negotiating Offers in Civil Svc Job
Hi all,
I have received a call from HR to inform me that they are interested in giving me an offer in a governmental job, and as they assured me that there is a standard computation of in the civil service, I disclosed my current salary to them and some variable components. I am unsure, on hindsight, if this would affect my salary offer. Hence, I have the following questions:
- Am I able to negotiate for a higher salary after the offer letter is received should it be below my expectations, e.g., it is lower than the range seen in Glassdoor?
- What is the usual way of doing so, especially given that they already know my current salary? Am I allowed to ask for the details of how they calculate the salary? I noticed that the pay ranges for each grade (e.g., MX12, MX13) is quite wide.
- Can I clarify and/or negotiate other terms, such as HR benefits and variable salary components, during this stage? If yes, what are the benefits I can ask about without sounding over-demanding? A sharing of general benefits in civil service would be helpful!
- What is the general procedure like should there be changes in conditions set from the initial offer letter due to negotiations? (e.g., would there be rounds of checks from different people, processing time, email or call, is it standard practice to come up with a counter proposal)
- Am I allowed to negotiate the starting date that is different from what I presented in the application stages? And if yes, what is a good reason to state?
- How long can I take to ponder over the conditions stated in the offer letter before signing it?
Thank you and sorry for the many questions. This is my first time negotiating salary (I didn't in my first job, which is bad!) and I don't want to end up lowballing myself.
Please also advise me to a more appropriate resource/platform if need be. Thank you so much!
