For those who are wondering if consecutive As and Bs for 2-3 years means a guaranteed promotion, I can safely tell you that it is definitely not true, or no longer true even since the pandemic period.

Yes I can second that. This was briefed to me by my school leaders last year. Apparently, it is about CEP and "the right time". MOE is slowing down promotion, it seems.

(Default male promotion), PB in 2019: C (promoted to GEO3)
(Work done for 2019) PB 2020: B
(Work done for 2020), PB 2021: A (promoted to GEO4, joined HQ under APEX posting)
(Work done for 2021) PB 2022: C
(Work done for 2022) PB 2023: C+
(Work done for 2023) PB 2024: B (posted out to school as a 1st time KP)
Just want to manage my expectation whether there is any chance of being promoted? Have been reading post about how P will inform promotees around this period but I have yet to hear from my P or SLs yet.

Your career path seem to be that of a scholar or someone with high CEP. Doubt anyone can tell you when you're gonna be promoted. But one thing's for sure...you'll promote faster than your peers. I know people from your batch...they are still at GEO3.

I'm relatively new in the service and still learning this ranking system.
2021: Not ranked, posted out as GEO 2. (4 years, Ba, Honours Distinction)
2022: C+ (2.0)
2023: C+ (2.0) Promoted GEO 3.
Mine stated between good and very good. I assumed mine is lower end good.
My school has quite a number of high performing GEO 3s holding internal SH position.
What's in there really for me? Is it all worth it to slug away while serving my bond?
I understand it will take a number of years to stay at GEO 3 before the next promotion.

My bestie is from the Ba programme, graduated in 2016. She has As and Bs the last few years, and is someone many KPs rely on and look upon favourably. She's still GEO 3 today. I suggest you manage your expectations.

C should be from 1.1 instead of 1.25

The teaching force is too top heavy lah. So many KP positions already, and so many tua Pek gong. How to go up? Go up also need to substantiate leh. Cannot promote just because you old already. End of the day...it's all about budgeting.

Haha! I was one of those younger teachers eons ago when I was fresh out of NIE. Call it youthful idealistic foolishness. After I got married and had kids...those things wore me off, along with seeing how students, no matter how you work your ass off, rarely change for the better. Now, I'm simply a C grade teacher after 15 years of teaching. Just do my job and go home scold my own kids.
If you really want money, just go tutor other kids. You will earn more than 3 months worth of bonuses in a year. And you only need to sacrifice 2 hours each week. Imagine all the pain to get an A. Is it worth it? It is if you want glory and want to help the kids. It isn't if you just want money. Just my 2 cents.

How are they separate matters? And how is merit increment related to PB? Any figures to be exact?

The information you are getting today is about your perf grade for 2023.
The news that you might be receiving in the next two weeks is about whether or not you are going up another sub grade.
While the former determines how fast the latter comes, there are other factors including your cep in play.
So yes, they are separate matters if you are looking at the timeline, or no if you choose to lump them together to bring about the greatest confusion to yourself.
Increment is affected by your perf grade. A is around 3 plus percentage for the geo 5 me. The number is not going to change whether or not you know it now or later. So enjoy the last two days of holiday instead of wondering whether the increment can get you an ounce of happiness.

Will C- limit my promotion after getting 3 Years of Cs?
I graduated in 2017 under 4 year degree programme batch. IN 2023, many of my batch mates gotten the promotion to a GEO 4 but I was not considered for promotion. I suspected that I gotten my C- for the year in 2020. If like what Louis Ng said is true, means I wont be considered for promotion for the next 3 years. However, for the past 3 years 2021, 2022 and 2023, I have been consistently getting C grade. Can I still promote this year? This is really frustrating and demoralising.

You need to find ways to up your performance grading. Continuing to get C will not help you with promotion. Only way to up your performance grading is to show ability to lead and do roles beyond your classroom. 11 years of teaching wisdom here for you
