And they think that is leadership. To be honest, using fear is not the worst thing i have seen SLs and KPs do. I have seen some KPs use false accusations to get officers to conform.

Leaving late May is pretty much end of T2 already, though. Seems like a neat enough time to go (OP can try to serve till end of W10 at least, if possible, if trying to preserve relationships).
Beyond that… sorry, I know it's not easy right now, but filling manpower gaps is part of the SLs' and MMs' job lor…

The P talk cock la. If you have the money, pay back 1 month liquidated damage and quit the next day also can. You can turn around and tell your P you will report to MOM or MOE HR for scaring you.
But of course, leave at the end on term for easier manpower redistribution of work. That will help if you decide to come back as FAJT/CAJT/relief teacher. Unless you have no intend to teach again, do what you want the way you like.

Seriously? You don't even know your legal rights as an employee in Singapore?
It is an offence for an employer to prevent an employee from resigning. You are not bonded anymore, all you need to do is either serve your notice period, or pay salary-in-lieu of notice and you are a free bird.
Even if you were still bonded, you cannot be disallowed from resigning. You would just have to pay the liquidated damages per your contract.

I was also a junior KP, and for me, it started much like your experience. I was told repeatedly that I was too friendly with the teachers. So eventually, I adopted their stance—kept my distance. But that just led to isolation. Among the KPs, there was little warmth; it felt like everyone was just waiting for a chance to shift blame onto someone else.
To be honest, I often felt more like a servant than a leader, especially when dealing with certain teachers. The school culture was exhausting—constantly managing responsibilities while having to watch my back. Through some painful lessons, I realised one had to be cautious around not just certain teachers including KPs. Some were so favoured by the P that they could spin the truth however they wanted and still be believed. And the worst part? They wouldn’t even attempt to clarify or talk things through—they just go straight to your bosses’ boss and throw you under the bus. And sometimes the funny part, they were just having a whatsapp or f2f conversation with you the day before.
i do not understand what kind of culture was being fostered, where basic communication is bypassed and backdoor complaints are normalised? And the worst of the them all — those who just have to shed a few tears to gain sympathy, while others are blamed no matter how unfair the situation is.
Honestly, I can’t understand why people like that choose to be in teaching at all.

GEO3 ceiling is $6250. Next year my salary should be very close or reach the ceiling. Does it mean a likely promotion to GEO4? Thank you.
