UT trainee here. Can anyone enlighten me why most BTs are miserable in school? Is it because they are new and thus learning the ropes or are they burdened with work? I also notice GEO5 really senior teachers working much much less while not a single finger is being pointed at them for doing bare minimum. The sight of this makes me think twice before commiting after my UT stint.

1.because BT are still bonded and need the money- fighting for scraps
2. Geo5 won't be fired no matter how badly they teach, just don't get into any scandal - and can push a lot work away - then HOD also bo bian, then they can only load it on the BT

Why the culture of double standards? Why is more expected from BTs who are paid far less?

Just do your part and keep quiet ba. For generation of teachers, this has been the way. You think the fraternity will change just because you think it’s unfair?
Just like in army, recruit and private always get the worse **** of all. The moment you become lance corporal your life will become better. The GEO5s are like corporal first class.
You happy or not, that’s not the fraternity’s problem. U have three choice,
1) quit
2) work your way up to SH/HOD and tekan those geo5 hard and make a difference to future BTs under you.
3) keep quiet do your job, get paid, dun complain.
It may sound harsh but that’s the reality in the system. You dun want to do, long queue of second career ppl waiting to join the fraternity for stable pay.

Yes. I can testify to that. No matter what you do, transfer these people out, ask them to go for open/close posting, change here change there. As long as they dun want to quit, there’s no way to sack them (unless they make a terrible mistake that is irreversible and go against the ethics).
The system should start doing something to ‘clean up’ these people.

I think a lot of older teachers forget how hard it is to be a BT.
BT life is difficult because they have to juggle (1) learning the ropes (2) plus dealing with additional work (due to manpower crunch in many schools) at the same time. BTs are supposed to be given off-loading (fewer timetable periods than other teachers) to learn, but in some schs some are not given that because o manpower constraints.
Some BTs are also given a lot of other duties in the name of development. But alongside those developmental projects (can write in EPMS kind), they are also bear the brunt of the ‘saikang’ duties in sch like AOE duty/be a warm body for chaperoning that KPs/more senior teachers may be exempt from/get out of more easily. All these duties add up.

Same as the many Enicks in camps
NSF do most of their jobs in office and they get their 6-8k salary
NSFs get the measly off pass and be contented with it and countdown

ya. Some of these GEO5 or laojiao GEO4 very good at kpkb and wayang. Not happy then go to the P and tell their sob story despite doing bare minimum. then HOD or SH kena after that. then have the cheeky to question why get a 'good' grade only. I always see many of them first few to leave sch while the rest work their lives away. Some preach to me saying they have high standards then when I see their work, wth.
When I was a BT, half the time see them bitching and gossiping in the pantry or at each other's tables while telling us BTs to do their ****. so if u meet a hardworking and non-gossipy Geo 4 or 5, appreciate that teacher. we need more of such teachers.
