Anybody here posted to a higher job grade but not promoted?
Assuming your rank is MX12 and currently you are holding an Executive post.
Then cum May/June you will be posted to an Assistant Director post but till today no news on your promotion. Typically Assistant Director is MX11 rank.
If like this can appeal for promotion?

I got one fren he mx14 but posted to do MX13i job immediately promoted leh. No need to wait for 1 year.
He currently mx14. Was told by his boss he posting over to higher job grade in this coming May (which is MX13i role). Then cum June he will be promoted to MX13i. No need wait 1 year. Boss alrd told him he will be promoted this year.
Where's the consistency is this?

When will your organisation inform you if you get promotion?

Personally, I think there are 2 tracks of promotion progression ie Fast track or Normal track. These tracks are tagged to individual CEP and how well liked you are by bosses. Fast track: Receive good Performance grading every year and get promoted every 2-3 years. Normal track: Promoted only when near or hit salary band ceiling and subject to vacancy in the next grade. Performance grading can be good, which reflects that bosses recognise your hard work and effort in taking up some projects/duties but that does not guarantee a promotion. If you want to appeal, think twice.. in my opinion, nothing change.
