company can do what they want to retain people. only thing you can do is don't join.

there are other payouts in govt that make you wait even longer before you can claim it.

I already tender early Nov but i put last day of work is 31 Jan just so that i can keep my bonus.. plus lucky me, new job agreed for me to start work on 1st Feb. So win-win situation for me here.
