I see many successful, millionaire households in this forum. They ride on the success of Singapore over the past 50 years. They must be thankful and be grateful for what they have achieved.

30 years old male
single: no wife or girlfriend
Basic degree holder (no honours)
Basic take-home salary: $2800
$500 goes to family, another $300-$500 for my monthly expenses
I try to say around $1800 -$2000 per month
$100K in Cash
$20K in stocks and bonds
No other assets.

Feeling demoralized after reading some of the postings here.

The first thing you need to do now is to find a wife. Get married and apply a cheap 3 room BTO flat. After MOP, the resale value of your flat is higher than your purchase price because you bought a highly subsidised flat. Your net worth will go up.

Would it be wise, for me, given the above circumstances, to consider investing in private property under the CPF PPS (Private Property Scheme)?

Haha..good one. It sounds funny but I have to disagree with you on this in my instance. My networth is only $100k but having a good wife is my life greatest blessing. No networth can match it...not even anywhere close Don't use money all the time to evaluate your life cos the moment you breathe your last even Bill Gates billions is meaningless to you that that moment.

Not wise at all for you to buy a private property as your pay is low and your cash is not much. Either you find a wife and then buy a BTO flat or if you remain single, wait until you are 35 to buy a 2 room HDB flat. Sorry to say this but you can't afford to buy a private property. Only the most successful and most hardworking people in Singapore can afford private property, it is a status symbol to live in a condo. This is a fact.
