Did u apply the job through poly website or through the "career@gov" website? Since poly post job openings on the career@gov website, so it should mean that they follow the ministry and stat board too.

Unless the position is hired by the 3rd party. I once applied to RP and offered the job, but in the end was told that RP has outsourced the work to a 3rd party so we will be hired by the 3rd party rather than RP itself. But I still reject it after that.

Depends. Its either very high ranked or very low ranked. MOM does a huge census survey each year. So they do employ lots of people to carry out the administrative duties and the survey taking as well. So these are very very low ranked people, literal survey monkeys, and because the surveys are done based on quota, one can actually free up a day of work if he/she completes the weekly quota of surveys in 4 days.

MOM is not relaxed. But as a ministry, I think its one of the slowest IMO. And the dept heads don't have their supervisors in their office with them. Meaning they can simply leave office early and no one can stop them. I've seen this happen before first-hand. I initially thought my dept head had some meetings to go to, but in fact she headed home and openly said it, happened more than once, but I was just a temp survey monkey. That's the problem with ministries. So far I've seen this happen in Mindef and MOM. Due to the fact that departments work in silos and the dept head is the 'biggest' person in the office, there are no checks on him/her. That's where your taxpayer's money are going to btw, lazy civil servants.

ever since the govt started targeting govt offices to move out of the city area (cbd), at least for my case, alot of our depts got separated and thrown into different areas all around Singapore. So like the MOM example quoted earlier, it is actually quite common that your own dept head or boss could be located somewhere else far away from you and they don't really have direct contorl over your movement everyday.

Whether its slack or not, at the end of the day you're the one answering for the work you put in. The system is slowly changing and automatic promotions no longer happen anymore.

I am in the same situation as the lady and is waiting for interview call. How long did they took to call you for an interview?

I guess around 1 month plus...after interview it took almost another 1 month to inform that I am offered the position. In the career@gov website, till now it only show "Submitted", it didn't show other status for my case.

I understand this is a norm for some stat board not to update the status on the portal. But 2 months for the whole process? So much for productivity.

Mine is directly from poly but the hr tell me project basis contract. If project basis then not following govt bonus scheme is it like that one or they bluff me?
