I was looking at Careers@Gov and will appreciate if some one can help map the title to the grade/salary range for IT DXO/IDA

DD
Head
Senior Manager
Manager

I am a diploma holder, late 30s with 16 years of IT experience. Currently a VP with a foreign bank managing a global support team. Will CS when consider since I do not have a degree?

Thanks

Don't bother, stick with your current job. There's no way for CS to match your current pay and position (not even close).

Thanks, was hoping to get more work life balance and do some form of national service.
Have been "serving" these foreign banks all these years with experience and know how's maybe time to "help" the local context. Will look at the 3 local banks then.

You could try your luck, but hopes are dim simply because you're a non-gead. You could try one of the GLCs but then again no promises there too.

The fancy titles roughly translate to:

Director - SVP?
DD - VP?
Head (AD) - AVP?
Senior Manager (Senior Exec) - Associate?
Manager (Exec) - Analyst?

Don't say I say, if I am interviewing you and you give me those reasons "doing national service and help the local context and yet want work life balance" I will not employ you.

Best that you stay in the Pte sector if your impression of civil service work is easy especially at that level.

Can share how much your pay as a VP is? Don't think CS can match it. Even at director level, the pay is only $16k pm.

Quite possible if her experience is relevant. I joined a MNC for 4 months after graduate from local uni. Just applied and got offer from STB and they offered me $4050. I had a first class from local uni with NS.

If you minus away, $4.2k - $300 (NS) - 3*($200 for relevant experience), that is about $3400 for a 2nd upper. Usually female 2nd upper is about $3300?

What I actually meant by better work life balance is I no longer need to compromise staying late nights for conf calls based on the pretext that the firms are US centric. Managers in SG always on the losing end if you need a global call going which is twice a week 2 hours each.

I am on 180k pa under technology infrastructure. The top range for VP is almost 300k

Thanks for sharing. You'll have to be appointed as a superscale officer for your pay to be matched. There's no way for CS to make this offer unless you're on AO scheme.

Just curious, what does it take to become the highest paid VP i.e. $300Kpa in your industry? Do you see any chance in your lifetime to reach there?

A close friend of mine was approached by a head-hunter 2 years ago - also similar position as yours. The offer was about $160K pa. Besides the technical requirements like CCIE, technology experts etc, the JD include "24x7 on standby call", "frequent overseas travelling", "able to collaborate with multi-nationalities on different time zones" etc. Eventually, he did not take up the offer, as he's a family man.

Does it sound like your current situation?

To get to the level of 300k you need to have very special skill sets like risk management, regulatory domain knowledge able to provide insight what the regulators want basically a domain expert or very good executive presence a project/program manager/Service delivery manager who can face off with MDs from the business at ease.

For me? Aiyo I am a poly bengz no chance to get to that level la
