I believe what the original poster was trying to say is that many employees in the private sector have seen themselves out at the exit door whenever the economy hits adversely, or the private companies they are working for decided to wind down due to bad business decisions and/or move to another country. You realised that’s mostly industry-centric due to the pandemic right? Aka it’s not about skills, but rather covid has devastated industries as a whole (like tourism - of which ppl like you can travel to cheap places like Thailand pre-pandemic)

According to glassdoor average 7.5k with 7-9 exp. Even barring the fact that glassdoor is kinda unreliable at times 10k in 5 years still seems a little far fetched no? Or maybe the breakdown of bonuses+basic works a little differently. Do you mind sharing?
