Thanks for sticking to the spirit of the thread.

It seems like the market now is paying low even for mid sized firms. Wage cut for the big 4 has been implemented or in the process of doing so.

I'm at 2PQE at a mid sized firm, drawing 5k. Definitely not good haha

Been wondering about this lately, do law firms pay associates the same as long as they are the same PQE?

I've heard of people wanting to seeking wage review but wonder if that is actually useful.

Hi senior,

Thanks for sharing. Any idea what the increments are like for 3/4/5/6 PQEs in mid-sized firms?

Any thoughts about going in-house? Do in-house positions generally pay better?

On a separate note, does anyone know whether it is easy to transfer from litigation to corporate? Would a corporate department of a law firm be willing to hire an associate who only has litigation experience?

Hi fellow batchmate. Glad to see you're still surviving too.

Heard the starting pay for this year at some small firms dropped below 4k, which makes it financially unsound to start being a lawyer in 2017.

A good number of my friends 1 year senior to me have already indicated they were dropping out of the profession. Reasons cited were the same old; no money, no growth, hate the job.

I'm thinking of leaving law alr... You planning to stay the long haul?

I'm an associate at a big 4 firm (2015 call), there's been no wage cut at my firm as far as I know. In fact we just got notice of our 2017 pay increment, and it's the same as our senior batches.

Btw if anyone is interested, associates in my batch are paid ~$8,000 a month. I know it's about the same as 2 of the other big 4 firms...
