Wah the guy who's getting 8k. I assume that's with frontload? Are you in liti or corp?

Yes it's with front load, but most of us still end up getting a pretty good bonus at the end of the year. As far as I know, both liti and corp associates get paid the same.

It seems like the market now is paying low even for mid sized firms. Wage cut for the big 4 has been implemented or in the process of doing so.
I'm at 2PQE at a mid sized firm, drawing 5k. Definitely not good haha

1PQE at a small firm, drawing 4.5k. ^ This honesty is a breath of fresh air. Some commentators in this forum present a rather rosy and altogether misleading picture in terms of present day pay packages. This does more harm than good, especially for juniors lawyers turning to this forum in order to find guidance on future career progression and/or renegotiating pay packages.

Did you get called in 2016 or 2015? if the former then you are doing not bad liao... heard that at least one of the big 4's starting pay is now below 5k.

Sure ornot? Big 4 below $5K? What a crappy deal. Which sucker will work Big 4 hours for less than $5.5k.
To quote a prominent public figure, this would be "the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever"!
If you're getting less than $5.5k pulling Big 4 hours, then you're a sucker.

I can confirm that big 4 is paying about 5.5k but hours are really long and bad.
All in, you probably even make about the same when compared to those at top graduate programs in MNCs...
