u need more than excel skills to be a quant tho. such as a master in quantitative finance or financial engineering.

no specific positions in mind... but u can try look out for positions that end with analytic/Analyst... some of them will state VBA/Excel or some other programing as their preference.

yeah, excel is child's play to them, but they dun use it all the time. real quants use R, C++, SAS, Ruby.

backoffice and middleoffice especially, like data analytics, use more excel vba.

Honestly, the level of use of excel, ruby, etc in banks is just slightly better than elementary, even among those who're supposedly experts as claimed by those who're also working in banks.
