Hi everyone, seeking some advice here for SB hiring process.

End Nov: had Second interview
Next day: HR immediately said they are pleased to move on to next stage of process and asked for references, pay slips, bonus, benefits evidence etc
End of first week Dec: both my referees responded and HR confirmed references received
15/12/23: sent email to HR to ask for update. HR auto reply was away till 20 Dec

Till now no update from HR since he’s back on 20/12. How long do we usually need to wait before HR responds with an official contract after references are given? Or is there a chance a contract may not come by even if references are checked?

Typically the next step would be for HR to give a verbal offer. However this still requires the usual approval process. Don't be too worried about the delay. Given that the HR guy is in leave and possibly his bosses as well, you may only hear back from HR only in Jan.

Since u have checked with HR on the 15th, u can drop him a reminder again

either the HR POC still doing the admin clearance during the down-time since pple could be clearing leave or kena the Corona jackpot on MC

possible if the reference checks done
some unexpected curve balls come out
then of course they could have the right/discretion to u-turn the provisional offer lor

Thanks for the insight! HR just responded yesterday that application is in review and making good progress. Seems like it's holiday downtime for most. Fingers crossed and happy holidays to all here!

Likely next week lagi down time also due to eve of Ang Mo NY and Corona 19

Hihi just for anyone's reference. Applied for ministry in Oct, got interviewed mid nov, got call next day for ref check and prelim offer. got verbal offer 3 weeks later. 3 wks mainly cos my ref took awhile to reply. Now waiting for contract and on boarding in progress. Jiayou to all!
