I don't think it looks weird. You are just trying to make the best of what limited options you have.

One month since my final interview with a ministry and submission of documents for processing. Last heard from HR is one day after interview is whether am I still keen for the role if the offered salary is lower than my expected pay.

Is there a chance of being offered or should just give up?

I was about to throw out an insult about the sense of entitlement among certain Singaporeans, but I've decided to hold back for the sake of your dignity. No wonder many employers seem to prefer foreigners more since they can be more hardworking.

Kind of a shame that such a question appeared in a public sector thread though. No wonder private sector keeps bashing the public sector.
