Nothing about medical check up has been mentioned to me so I don't think it is an issue for me at this point. Do you know whether ministries will offer before security clearance or it's only after clearance then offer?
Allow me to paraphrase for the person who posted. Ministry can let you sign whenever they deem fit, but they can void the contract if any component is not cleared eventually. This is stated in black and white when you sign. Some components can take a long time to clear, like 2-3 months. Maybe the person is queueing for a specialist appointment.

How come failed? I believe its a person's privacy. In fact, sometimes even the candidate won't know. Give u an example, for certain high Classification job, having a Singapore PR wife from certain foreign country can also result in failure of clearance. But they won't tell you.

I'm currently holding a nanyang scholarship. Does it mean I will get promoted faster as compared to the rest if I were to join a ministry or statboard?

Is the scholarship status transferrable between university to "civil or public service"?

Did they ask you when you will start work?

There's no exact date as it requires ministry approval for the appointment. Is this the norm duration?

Usually verbal offer is made after Ministry approves. Maybe your SB is confident of getting that approval. You might want to check with your HR when is your expected start date.

Yes reference is usually the last stage. For ministry usually just formality since everybody sure arrange for BFF and rehearsed already. Sometimes they just want to see if u dare to put your ex boss because some people think burning bridges is something they waited a long time to do due to accumulated hatred.

Clearance can take 1-2 months buddy. Also wonder what they check. Private companies take under a week.
