Thanks for sharing!

I'm curious about how you feel the learning will continue to benefit you - is it mainly about exposure to another sector (and understanding the requirements of working there)? I've always thought TWA was an interesting option, but struggled to understand how it would benefit me as a teacher (other than perhaps exploring other career options…)

I think of it as personal enrichment. Just as most of our kids don't end up as musicians or sporting professionals, we still see the value in having them take part in CCAs because it develops them as people holistically.

Likewise, I see TWA as a way to get myself out of the world of teaching for a bit, see a bit more of the world. Does it apply directly back to teaching? So far it hasnt la. But it was an enriching experience - it developed my perspectives and awareness of some things. And that may have an indirect impact on the way I teach in.future, the kinds of teaching materials I use, etc.

But there are TWA options more directly related to teaching if you are looking for something with more direct transferability back to your job. Orgs in education sector or related to your teaching subject.

Telling students to behave when the teachers are not behaving. What a double standard

Walk the talk.

Students are human beings too.
This is a very lousy rebuttal on so many levels. Like that, why your parents can make love but keep telling you not to do so in your teens?

"Walk the talk" lol...

It is just like how doctors advocate quitting smoking...but they themselves may smoke too. Is it a crime? Why they cannot walk the talk?

Because they are adults who made informed decisions on life choices. And it is their DUTY to educate the public about the truth on smoking. To compare that with groping/molestation or how we should let kids smoke if teachers wanna smoke...that's illogical. No link.

Agree! I must say you're lucky to have such supportive SLs. Others that I know of would only approve of TWA during June/Nov/Dec period. Great school to be in!

If a teacher doesn't have time to interact with people outside of fraternity and is constantly surrounded by other educators, it will be good to see the world outside through TWA so as to better inform oneself of the realities outside of schools. That will shape perspectives which hopefully will impact teacher's pedagogical approaches, as well as have more impetus to impart beyond content knowledge.

Default Pegging of EO grades, KP and HQ positions

Dear all,

I'm very new to this field! Just out of curiousity, what is the "pegging" between the EO grades, KP and HQ positions? Is this correct?

SEO3 = VP = DD in HQ
SEO2 = HOD = AD in HQ
SEO1 = Junior HOD = Lead Manager in HQ
GEO5 = Normal teacher / SH = Manager in HQ

Thank you!
