To take on VP role, one must have had experience leading IP area? Simply non-IP cannot?

Deep competency is good, but breadth is also important. A school leader is likely to be more effective in their job if they have competencies in both IP and non-IP leadership areas.

Hi, may i ask if there is a 10% increment from GEO 2 (untrained) - GEO 2 (trained)? If it exceeds the GEO 2 payscale, does that mean that i'll have a smaller increment?

Not sure about the percentage increment, but your pay cannot exceed the ceiling for sure. To go beyond the ceiling of your current subgrade, you will need to be promoted to the next subgrade.

Ouf. I see. If that is the case does it mean that promotion will be soon? Or will I have to wait one or two years at the limit?

No one can answer this question except your RO. Promotion is no longer timescale based, but competency based. Look at your work assignment and compare against the KRA rubrics. Are you consistently delivering above the subgrade expectations?
If you are doing work at a higher level, and producing good work, and collaborating well with colleagues, then you should be in line for a promotion commensurate with your work outcomes. Find out more from RO at end year review.
If you are doing work that meets the requirements of your subgrade but does not achieve the expectation of a higher subgrade, then regardless of your pay, you are unlikely to be promoted.

Another form of wayang are those newbies who stay in the staff room till 6pm even though they dont have any work to do. Little do they know its a recipe for burnout

Sometimes it’s really not wayang. Mask up to try not to spread germs to others. Still go to school because it takes me more than 1 week to recover from a cold / flu. ‘Resting’ at home is not possible as it is a must to prepare worksheets and extra things to be done by the relief teacher. I’d rather go and babysit the class going at a slower pace than trouble other people to print work and arrange for relief. Hate this.
So toxic… take leave to rest and recover will also get judged and Rec comments
