What a ridiculous RO. Don't listen to his nonsense - no has the right to tell you what to do with your life, especially not your RO. His job is to plan around your maternity. It is NOT your fault.

If you want to find out about the bond duration, please do write to HR. They will be able to advise you.

If cos taking maternity leave will add on your bond duration. Maternity is 16 weeks with future another addition of up to 10 weeks.

Imagine if you are bonded for 3 years and you gave birth twice. But the addition, do email HR to check.

Sometimes, it is better not to ask.

Why?

HR will just track the bond till expiry date.

Then declare bond over.

Maternity leave is not no pay leave.

It is paid leave and should be counted as bond period.

Once you gave birth in Singapore and register to their BC, it's all auto tracked.

It should not be fully counted as bond period. I stand corrected. Imagine you are a BT, gave birth to 2 children. Each children you are taking 16+10 weeks (new add on).

This would mean 52 weeks which is 1 year. I am sure the ministry has certain processes in place.

Just do be caught off guard can le.

Hi how do i navigate a repeat of a situation where RO exclude the contributions that i wrote when passing it over to SLs? It has happened more than once. RO probably does not want SLs to know that i have been doing above normal load for things like exam-paper setting and after lesson student activities.

Exactly. A young PUNK that thinks she figured a way to outsmart the system. Enjoyed paid and sponsored NIE stint, couldn't handle worklife, and trying to find an easy way out. Strawberry generation. Back during our times, we go above and beyond our call of duty. I dont have any hope for these new batches of "teachers" who lack resilience.

And i hope your RO reads this forum.

What is your current appointment, sub-grade and years in service?

Giving birth and raising an infant child is "easy way out"?? Yoooooooo I would like some of what you are smoking. Maybe raising children will be easier when I'm high on whatever you are.

It's possible to ask HR directly. But if paiseh to do so, go to Workpal app, activate AI-powered AskHR functionality, and ask away. Don't just trust the AI response - look up the references when you scroll down.

You should end up with a better answer than these conflicting opinions in an anonymous forum. 😂
