Wait wait wait I'm sorry but you included BONUS into your TC?

WTF so meaning all these high TC fresh grad pays are including bonus? I thought they were talking about base pay only... Why the fk would you include Bonus into your TC lol.

I thought TC just means total compensation which includes guaranteed pay like

1. base pay
2. allowance
3. sign on bonus

Stock options, RSU and bonuses should not be included because they are not guaranteed right? Crypto bonuses are 1-2 years plus... does it make any sense if I say I earn

72k base = 6k monthly
72 to 144k bonus = 1 - 2 year bonus
TC: 180k ? ( 72k base + 1.5 year bonus )

am i wrong? i check online other people also count TC without bonus... hymm

haha yes brother most ppl would include guaranteed bonus into their TC
you are missing out a few things for eg. some companies pay out AWS aka 13th month which is guaranteed being written into the contract.
public servants like teachers are entitled to mid and end year bonus that are guaranteed as well altho the quantum might not be set in stone.
that said, the number i quoted above is at the min. bonus range, the total amount could be higher depending on performance etc.

If only consider fixed component, it will include all non variable aspects of your TC.

This guy talks a lot for someone dumb. OP literally says TC which stands for TOTAL COMPENSATION. The collated data point is base salary only cuz TC obviously will always vary from person to person even in the same role and company.

God help me.

Well at that point I had a good working relationship with my department head who was also the regional MD / CEO. So I pulled together some salary benchmark data and also some salary ranges from comparable jobs which I managed to gather during some interviews.

So put all that into a formal letter to my boss stating my case and my perceived lower than market salary. During that review, they came back with a bump on top of what I originally stipulated.

It was a hail Mary play but it worked. I guess they thought I was about to jump ship and wanted to retain me?
