friendly colleagues and work life balance

Cons
chief executive sent an email last year saying he was going to downsize the GovTech workforce and any contract renewal would have to be personally approved by him. This caused a major outburst in the company

Not just CE but PS Joseph said the same. Have to reach the target set by mof so its harsh truth

They are probably cutting by normal attrition. That means letting the contracts expire and they will not renew them.
Some say that it is because there is some fat to be trimmed.

“some fat” is being optimistic. it will take 2-3 yrs to clear
