Obviously it’s a salary to skill issue. Look at the current people at L9/L8. Honestly touch ur heart, tell me what tech skills they have? Other than being able to work late, PowerPoint skills & certain project domain knowledge (which is useless once project dies down), what other skill set do they have that is/are worth 7.5k++ outside?

Why they cannot just hire the L9 in outside and slowly train us?
I am L9, I have no experience in AI, but I am willing to learn, but I never go into any interview
