i'm talking to gic recently and their HR really cannot tell me an average bonus number. The base that they offered is only 5% higher than what i have now. This offers not much incentive to move unless the bonus is bigger. Anyone knows if the below quote is true?

Bonuses are almost certainly a function of your performance and overall macro performance of the firm.

Never jump ship for purportedly "high bonuses" unless you have it in writing.

We should feel happy that he's going to work for JPMorgan. While many of us do aspire to work for top tier companies, let's learn to work on ourselves and not be envious of others. I too was once envious of my peers.

The bonus is 0-2 months for ops
