Fresh grad here, offered maximum of range for MX13 (typical 2 years contract, 5.2 base excluding allowance after passing some test). My (lady) friend was offered MX12 but pay was 700 lower than mine.
Is it better to have lower rank but higher pay, or higher rank but lower pay? lol I'm very confused.

You do know that male get paid more than female, right?
Why need to compare? Just to make yourself feel better?

STB manager to senior manager pay range
Hi, can someone shed light on the scheme for civil servants at Singapore Tourism Board?
Does it follow the MX scheme? If not, what scheme does it have?
What salary range (per month & annually) can one expect for a manager to senior manager level at STB?
Thanks in advance!

I am offered a contract of 3 years for a job in civil service, I thought typically should be only 2 years? Shorter or longer contract is better before emplacement?

STB has its own scheme and does not follow MX scheme, there are different salary gradings/tiers for both Manager and Senior Manager. So it depends on which salary grading you are pegged to for the respective roles. Definitely better than MX scheme, as their salary range is also higher/wider. Generally MX scheme is the lousiest compared to other statboards own schemes.

During my interview at a ministry, I was asked if I was more of a leader or follower. I responded by saying that I tend to be a follower, although I would like to have the opportunity to learn to lead a team as well. I am about to sign the contract for this job and I was wondering if what I mentioned in the interview will affect my CEP negatively?
