HRs in public service are well known to be JLB one. Add on, now coming to year end mostly clearing their weeks of leave and mostly no need back up personnel to cover their duties cos its not even urgent work. but honestly there are so many people vying for a position in public service, most of the time your resume do not even pass the HR stage as they dont even get to click your resume or take a look at it. The hiring panel only gets to see what the HR sees and passes to them

Really? Places like DSTA struggle to find talents due to security requirements

how do u even know they have a problem to find talents? you heard from low level minions in service? actually the qn u asked have been asked very regularly in the forum. if no contact means unlikely any change in the situation for the future. Instead of banking all your hopes with DSTA, just keep casting your net wider. They dont deserve you and neither should you be keeping your expectations so high, it will just give you more disappointment

I think we are from the same agency.
Early 40s here... getting ~11k monthly. This year will be getting 19.95 mths package (C grader). If managed to get B, can go as high as 22mths package in a good year like 2017/2018.

Hi, does anyone has any connection with DSTA hr or working in DSTA in this forum? I need some guidance. I'm applying for an Engineer/QS position in Building & Infra. Any advice on how to get the HR attention? Tried emailing them twice and sent in my application. However no response and status on the portal is just "Application Submitted". Any advice to secure an interview with them?

When people here share about their monthly salaries (especially fresh grads), are you dividing the annual package into months? Or are you sharing your monthly base salary without any bonuses added?
I asked for 4k a month but was shot down by HR who said they can only offer me roughly 3.3k a month because I need to consider 3.3k x 15 months and not 12 months.
Is this normal? Or am I getting lowballed? I’m just worried future employers will take my last drawn salary as 3.3k a month?
Advise please and thanks
[ NUS, FCH fresh grad, female no NS, both degree and diploma are relevant to the job, 2 internships with 1 year total experience also extremely relevant to job]
