For one job, I have waited before 80+ days after interview before getting an offer, and that's due to various changes within the org that got everyone's hands full. Total wait is 100+ days since application, add in one month notice, total about 130+ days.

But I do know that under normal circumstances, the max wait time for this org is about 30+ days.

I have also experienced cases whereby the call for first interview is exceptionally long:
- One called me about 90+ days after application, and after telling them that I already found a job, they called me again 20+ days after that first call... and when I told them again, they called me YET again one week after that second call. Very interesting stat board.
- Another called me about 100+ days after application, in which I also found a job already.

Then did u take up the job after u are offered 80 days after interview? Most people may have found jobs after 80 days.

means they did background screening on their own before even notifying u that u had a job?

that is logical. no point offer first then reject you later on during to security reasons.

but leaving u hanging , not knowing whether u got a job or not till they finish screening which could take a few weeks seems abit anal

no to mention ppl who were really keen on the job accepting other offers due to the silence

bug them for updates.. a friendly HR personnel told me that after a final interview, they will have to wait for the shortlisted candidates list to be given to them by the interview panel(about 1-2 weeks waiting time). afterwhich they will have to work out a remuneration package as well as deployment plans for the successful candidates etc before they can confirm start calling to make a job offer to these candidates.

mine was after 1st interview they told me 2 week to know if i got into 2nd interview

I rocked the 1st intw so i was confident

after 9 days, i got a call asking me for 2nd intw with a director in the panel

This time intw was soso only.. nowhere as good as 1st

Again they told me 2 weeks...now its gonna be 1 week since intw ...losing abit of hope!!!

juz thinking why would need so long... simple yes or no mah

also hope that if its a NO, atleast they will notify rather then keep me dangling

as mentioned, need to seek approval from higher management etc needs time, come up with pay package etc.
