Hi, thanks for your reply.

I’m the OP and I have done my homework prior to making this post.

Self-funded PGDE is available and you may refer to the following link for more information:-

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I’m the OP and I would like to clarify some things with you instead you are mistaken.

I don’t need the job from MOE and I don’t have any plan to be a teacher.

I just want the PGDE certificate and I’m capable of paying it myself.

I just want to know, what can NIE demand from me given that I don’t take a single cent from MOE and I don’t need their job either. To be exact, I’m their customer paying them the course fee. MOE is not their customer since the government is not paying for me.

So, let’s say during the practicum, I decide to slack and just wish to secure a minimum pass. What can they do to me even if I’m late in my lesson plan submission, etc?

Default self funded PGDE

I’m the OP in the previous posts on self funded PGDE.

I have read many posts whereby many UT teachers / NIE trainees mentioned that they always get threatened by their NIE supervisors, lecturers, tutors, school practicum supervisors that “you better pull up your socks or else you will fail and need to pay MOE LD” and “you better buck up otherwise even after your PGDE and practicum, the school leaders will be hard on you during your job if they don’t like you”

So, now my question is, I’m paying for the course myself and I don’t need their job, so what can they do to me??? What can they say to me???

They can still fail you, and you need to pay $40k a year in fees.. then you might need to retake the module or practicum or give up the PGDE ... so it's still monetary cost

Please do not treat NIE like a brothel.

You may apply but may not be admitted.

Your poor attitude is not going to help.

You will waste time and money.

Your name will be in the NIE blacklist.

Self-funded PGDE is not available. If you don't believe this, you can try applying. You will likely receive a straight rejection and an invitation to apply to MOE for a teaching job instead (i.e. the usual MOE-sponsored route to NIE and a subsequent EO career).

The worst they can do? They can fail your practicum twice and you will not be able to graduate from the PGDE programme, regardless of who is paying your fees.

You will fail your practium. Thereafter, you will be given another chance to do your practium in another school. Failing which, you will fail and be unable to continue with the course.

Yeah, you very good. You don't draw salary when you go on holiday? You take no-pay leave?
