Of course that was not what I meant. I was responding to the insinuation made by someone that teachers who find themselves bringing work home are inherently inefficient.

Yes I do know of many - some choose to do via PDL and others try to apply for PGS/PGA. Some try to do so at PT and and then take NPL during final year of writing.
Generally MOE is only supportive of sponsorship of PhDs for very senior colleagues and SSs.

I got a pleasant surprise when my P came to congratulate me for my promotion. it came as a very pleasant surprise as I am a returning to service officer and i got a promotion just two years ago in 2022 but I am really very happy that my hard work got recognised

Maybe your P just hasn’t told you yet? Different schools announce it at different times.
It’s quite unusual for a GEO5 HOD with strong performance to not get promoted quickly. All the ones I know of in my sch got it within 3-4 years, usually 3.
