These are usually experienced hires. I’ve not met anyone who went into monitor as a fresh hire.
They seem to hire a lot of experienced folks (5-10 years) of experience where 10k is not exactly that attractive anymore

Isn't that bad?
Squeeze the associates, seniors and managers to feed the jiakliaobee partners. They won many new clients but have insufficient manpower to handle the clients

If u just want 5 years and get out, just choose the one where your friend is inside and team culture is ok. Commercial recruiter won’t care u from which of the 4 houses cos they all the same

I think commercial more interested in the dept/sector you worked in. Banks or financial institutions will prefer those who audited banks before.

The fundamental problem with big 4 manpower crunch: information transparency
Now us younger generation has all the means to understand the job market, how each company is paying , how is the company culture, workload , future outlook etc without having to physically be in it to test it out
With so many good MNC (esp tech firms ) paying almost twice the starting pay of big 4, with equally good career prospect and learning opportunities, whoever that drink the cool aid of big 4 being the best training ground and career starter … gd luck, not saying it’s not true anymore. But there are many many diff places which u can achieve the same outcome , with more WLB and $$$ instead of sitting in front of the desk for 16 hours with peanut pay and getting called lazy and not appreciative enuf the moment u talk abt being too overworked
Unless your want to make director or partner . DONT JOIN
Recently more US small and mid tier firms merge , that’s because this industry has been squeeezed until the money is only concentrated at the top earners. Being the small fry u just gonna be miserable for many years with no guarantee that u would get the light at the end of the tunnel

Based on what I oversee, not that the company are not trying hard enuf to join
Is Becos the big 4 reputation is so SH*T that any fresh grad with good grades and a better common sense would choose to join a big MNC finance team with equally good opportunity ( lol most mgr jump out of big 4 cos cannot tahan) and much higher pay
