Congratulations, you must be the slacker if you have not met such situations.

I’m not a nice enough person to help other people so their work for free.
Why don’t you share your salary with me if you want me to OT to do your work?

Suffering ceases to be suffering when u find meaning in it.
I met my wife in Big 4 and we were working together for close to 4 years ( i treat this as our dates and bonding to know each other better) . That why we managed to tide through the initial tough years.
Anyway, my wife has left Big 4, and has been working in house for other commerical entity since then but her progression isnt as fast as me. She is only making 6K+ but her work life balance is better. (Avging 50 hrs/week) She only need to OT as specific period (company closing).
For me, my working hours isnt as dire as my junior years now. Working probably avg 60+ hrs/week now.
However, I am still looking for opportunities to exit.
Without my wife/Me (supporting each other), i dont think I and my wife would have lasted the initial ~90hrs++ work week for our junior years in Big 4.
Audit Life generally get much easier after u made a mgr at your ~5th year mark.

tl;dr Big4 is only bearable if you can find a wife inside the firm. If not, then gg

There is some truth to that..
Junior years I OT with teams, it feels just like hanging out with friends, same as rushing projects during university days.
Work doesn’t feel like work when you have the companionship and you stop thinking about salary
But by senior years you come back to reality… end of the day, who is not working for money?

Hi guys, I got an offer from commercial that is higher than senior pay but was wondering if it is better to camp at big 4 to ride through the guaranteed progression or go commercial? My SM tell me although big 4 pay Low at the start but then the pay at the end of 5 to 10 years will outpace my peers who left earlier outside. Somemore he thinks i am partner potential.

Some ppl see working for more than 16hrs is achievement as well. So no, not a good suggestion. The director and actors need to be there for the viewers.

Er, it's cos the managers wanted us to OT till 3 am TBH. During finals we still charge 8 hours in our timesheet, even though we work double of that (30% or so of which is unproductive). So, we charge clients the same fee and they thought that we only work for 8 hours a day.
"The director and actors need to be there for the viewers." --> Regarding this, the viewers you mentioned in your post aren't the same parties who pay the audit fee...
