Its not about being too much.

It is the optics. You are 40 years old, trying to get shelter at civil service asking for 4.5K.

Unless you are going for executives roles for poly and below, there is no reason for CS to want to hire you.

At 4.5K i can hire a local uni grad who has the energy and ideas and can be easily molded.

You are 40, are you sure you will listen to all instructions given to you? What if the instructions comes from a manager that is 25 years old? Will you accept it whole heartedly?

I am also comparing in term of tech sector:
Seem like in tech sector of government agencies package seem to be better than CS/Ministries one.

E.g., Govtech is around 2.5 month performance bonus + 1 AWS in general (avg). This is on top of the monthly pay which is higher than CS.

Thinking aloud, if government agency salary package is higher than ministries, shouldn't it be harder for ministries to attract talent (exclude scholarship scheme which is under different track)

wrong, govtech farmer get less than 1 month bonus since last year, AWS fold-into-salary

fresh grad salary for civil service in 2025 (mx scheme):
NUS FCH & NS: 4.8k+
NUS 2:1 & NS: 4.5k+
for girls just deduct ~200 to each of them

As long as year end bonus is 0.8-1 should be good enough
