I applied to many job at Career@Gov but no reply or a couple of rejects. Is this normal? Should I stop applying at Career@Gov?

Most ppl in public service in their late 40s are holding high positions such as directorships already. Those who are not have probably jumped out to the private sector to have a higher earning power. If you are not applying for directorship positions (which are extremely rare to start with), just forget it and look at the private sector instead. More junior grades will prefer younger candidates.
