Hi all,
Should i decide to do a mid career change, will cs still look at my honours and pay me according or isit purely work experience based? I understand that for fresh grad, they do pay by hons.
another question, isit possible to join the civil service again should i had not fulfilled the 2 year contract with my previous employer, which is also part of public service?

is consistent C+ and B considered proven potential and performance?
his 500+ increment could be merely playing catching up to compensate his 15 years of work experience.
it seems overly optimistic to think he can hit MX9 and MX8 jus bcos of that.

Well, of coz, nothing is guaranteed, not even your job. But at least, he is not disadvantaged and stand a chance. He privately told me that his MX7 PSC scholar boss has earmarked him to be the top MX specialist in his organisation during the review. After studying his past records, I think his boss is not ********ting him.

MX7 in ministry = Dy PS or even PS?
In my stat board MX7 equivalent is the Chief Executive (CEO).

Will you get informed first, or do you wait for the email announcement?

Thanks for updating. For comparison, i was MX13 when i entered service and got confirmed/promoted one year later to MX12. From 2008, I was MX12 and got promoted to MX11 in 2010. Not a scholar. NS. 2nd upper. Gunning for my MX10.

$10,920 a month (MX10) with generally 4 months bonus (year end + PB) i.e 16month package is not too bad for somebody who's spent their entire life shuffling papers and shooting arrows without any profit/loss responsibility. This fig will definitely break the psychological $11k threshold by the next wage adjustment and even as a farmer myself i'm quite ok with that figure.
Of course you MUST supplement your income with some sort of asset enhancement by the sidelide (i.e rental yield) if you're really serious about living comfortably.
