Hi people,

I graduated with a 3rd class honors from NUS. If I were to join a ministry, what would be the highest pay I can achieve before stagnation for an average performer?

Hi all, I am facing a dilemma btw choosing a position in a Stat Board under MTI (Spring/IE Sg/EDB) and joining MHA under the HASE scheme... Which one do you guys think is better and why? Thank you for your kind opinion. Stat board pays 200+ more compared to MHA.

I have 4 years of working experience in private sector.
Would like to switch to public sector with 4 yrs relevant experience.

I graduated from local uni mech engineering (pass with merit only).
Currently earning $5kpm.

How much can I ask for?
My progression will be hindered by my degree?
Does taking Masters studies help?

Which public sector and what job position you intended to apply?

>> How much can I ask for?
Assuming what your work experience is 100% relevant, expect similar *annualized* pay package. Otherwise, expect some cut.

>> My progression will be hindered by my degree?
Degree only determines your starting pay. You'll be assessed based on potential and performance after you've joined.

>> Does taking Masters studies help?[/QUOTE]
Only if it's relevant and useful to the positions that you've applied for. MBA is no count.

Had a 1st class in mech engineering from NUS, had various achievements such as UROP. Worked for roughly 4 months after graduate this Aug in a big name MNC.

Just got an offer to join a statboard and they think my profile fits them. They made an offer of $4050 to me. Should join?

Am hesitating as the MNC I am working for is huge and prospects are good but chiong like mad. Clocked nearly 80 hours a week. Statboard chill, good pay and increment nice as my base as fresh grad is thick.

Sorry to be brutally honest your 3rd class honors won't even get you an interview with a ministry.
