Depends on what you want.

The CS is oversaturated headcount wise. It is already hard enough for the younger degree holders to move upwards due to lack of vacant positions at higher levels. All already filled by seniors.

So if you are going in with the mindset of a diploma holder, it is a decent choice. But if you are going in with the aim of achieving progress in the longer term (which looks like you are), then do be prepared for some possibly struggles for the first few years, even after getting your degree.

They like to say qualifications shouldn't matter for progress, but the reality I have experienced has been nothing but the complete opposite.

I am a fresh grad, NUS FCH, female, top in cohort and i was offered close to $3.7k in a SB. Is that a fair wage?

I knew someone (female) who had 2 NUS degrees, with FCH in one. She got $3.6k starting at a MOH stat board. I think it's not a "fair wage". But it is the going rate.

FCH usually get >4.5k for MX scheme, >5k for specialist schemes.

Don't shortchange yourself if you have FCH.

See mostly 2nd lower/3rd class in IMDA and GovTech. Maybe tech agency is different.

joining sb with buildin aws (eg. govtech) should command about 4.2, if nt, will be about 3.8. unless on special scheme
