the policy divsions of ministries have more scholars than local grads.

As compared to their peers who are less academically inclined who probably (pardon me i'm not sure) takes a longer time to reach management roles in the civil service or stat board.

2008 - 2900 (Public)
2009 - 3200 (Public)
2010 - 4200 (Pte)
2011 - 5200 (Pte)
2013 - 6000 (Pte)

Still not doing that well as compared to many on this forum, but happy to dig my way out of the low starting pay.

And I think pte and public doesn't matter, really depends on whether your boss likes you.

I recently joined civil service... and I have graduated in 2011. Was it a wrong move?

2011: private govt linked - 2900 (0 allowance)
2012: private MNC - 5000 (1200 allowance + 5k sign on bonus)
2013: private MMC - 5500 (1200 allowance)
Now: civil service - 5000 (2000 allowance)
