Now that colleague left, like doing 3 roles for price of half.
Some additional information: Was from Private Sector IT sector, but got hired as fresh grad without com sci degree & coding bkgrd which is why I low confidence and settled for less. Have talked to Govtech counterparts but they dun want to offend my side by poaching me (apparently)
My salary history:
Year 1: $3900, no AWS, 0.5mth bonus (low bonus cos American company believe in gd performance reward with increment but not bonus)
Year 2: $4600, no AWS, 0.5mth bonus
Year 3: $4000, AWS, 2.8 mth bonus - switched to ministry, base lower, but overall more
Year 4: pending increment, currently contract-less cos HR screw up on renewal

The previous posts all suggest that $5k is super low for someone in late 20s. Then what is the expected salary for someone in late 30s? Is the average performer expected to hit $10k by then?

Late 30s should be nearing 10k liao though base salaries plateau at some point. If you are really average then perhaps 8-9k is a decent mark to aim for.

Average servant would get at least 6k at 35. Probably 7-9k at 38-39

At best 15-16 months total with an average C+ ranking.

I don't consider anything less than 5 months (not counting AWS) as "many' months lol

According to posts here, by the age of 40
Hit mx9 = above average
Hit mx10 = average performance
Below mx10 = below average.
Not sure is that really true since most farmers will retire at mx10 and can average farmers really hit their ceiling by 40?

3-4 months are not exactly ‘many’. Almost all private sector industry can give these amount of bonuses
