Anyway go read another thread where its more job related specific.

This thread " how much you earn per annum" is really full of ****.
LOL. Probably the same dude who claims to have a net worth of $5m and saving $350k pa. LOL. Full of BS indeed.

Most probably two to four different dudes.

1. The $5m guy with $350k pa savings who also advocated working as long as you can
2. The 57/58 yo retired couple
3. The young retired successful ex-exec who made it good and now doing charitable work
4. The dude who gave encouragement to everyone who posted and urged them not to womanise, smoke, drink etc..

Then there are the others who advocated renting out the HDB andliving in M'sia, Thai etc

And now we have a persistent car dealer.

It is correct money is not everything, not just for retirees but for everyone.

The question is how much money is enough.

In a high cost society like Singapore, that amount, that magic number can be quit high.

I was just reading a 65 yo retiree's plight about not having enough money and seeking to go back to work. He said he got $500 pm payout from his minimum sum and that is going to dry up in 9 years. The $500 pm is severely inadequate for him and his wife. He estimated he would need at least $2000 pm. To supplement the $500 pm, his wife had to go out to work.

So it is important to get the basics right. Many times, things are sweeter knowing you have a safety net. If you don't have enough money, you will constantly worry about it, and not able to devote time and love to your spouse. Worse, both of you will end up quarreling all the time - about the lack of money.

Today the 2nd Dec COE bidding starts. Did you book your new car over the weekend?

We can expect COE prices to continue with the uptrend. The Dec bonus has been given out and many people have lots of cash in their hands, not knowing what to do. Many will buy a new car to replace their old one or buy a second new car for their wife. With cheap oil, it is now cheaper to own and use a car. It is also more convenient to move around. Taxis nowadays so difficult to get during peak hours. Taxi fares have not gone down despite the fall in oil prices and this means you make taxi uncles richer. I rather use my money to buy a new car for my family.

Cat A will likely cross $70k and Cat B will cross $78k. Don't fight the uptrend.

You are lucky if you booked your new car yesterday.

I can wait as my car is still not due till 2016,
by that time, it should drop like a rock to $30k or below.
