Wife 38 - 72k pa.
me 40 - 120k pa.
Owe mortgage 800k
Have a car, helper and a kid.
Both of us not much savings.. probably 150k only.

Honestly, last few yrs almost 0-1 mth bonus only for both of us. sad.

I wonder if i am doing ok or need to buck up and change job. I see my peers now head of a dept or bank. very depressing.

How old is the kid? If can make do without a helper, should do that.

Make sense to cut away the car too if want to boost the saving

Personally think your household income is alright to raise a family of three. The thing here is your savings of 150k is considerably low for your age which might be due to the purchase of your private property and monthly expense on "want" like car (not sure if you spend a fair bit on food etc). Probably the first thing to do is track your monthly expense and savings (remove wastage). As for changing job, I would think you may have to evaluate your options (boss and promotion potential) within the company and upside/downside of changing job.

32M in AWS as Solution Architect.

Roughly about 200k/annum all in, inclusive of sign-on bonus and RSUs.
Will fall off a cliff after 4th year if not promoted, after RSUs and bonuses vests.

what does it mean though "fall off a cliff" - Reduced salary because no additional RSUs are granted?
