I can tell you that in all honesty, I have not gotten much from any HR departments in the law firms that seem to be 'hiring'. Every application I have sent out to the following law firms, I have not heard a single word back from their HR. Not even a polite "Sorry, we are not able to offer you a position"

Seriously, why put up advertisements if none of your HR personnel bother to reach out to candidates? Sure they've been deluged with tons of applications. But surely it doesn't take 3 weeks to send out an email that could just even be copied over on a template.

P.S. A&G bothered to send a rejection, hence why they are missing.

I am not sure what these 'opportunities' are anymore.

From someone inside the firm, WP is hiring. I see new hires added every few weeks. I'm not gonna say that it's alright for a firm to not reply at all, but it's always been like that for law firms, even way before covid. They reply you only if they are interested.

Those firms you mentioned are retrenching associates and de-equitising underperforming partners. Why would they bother to respond?

Some firms put out ads to fish for cvs without real intention of hiring. You joined the wrong profession pal.

Yes and some firms ask friendly recruiters to pretend to approach their own employees to test water out of paranoia and see if they are loyal. And if there is any response even if innocent they will then spread rubbish and say this person is looking to jump so better freeze progression. All kinds of **** dark arts being performed by toxic hr teams. Be careful of recruiters. They are 2 faced.
