Adding on to this, anyone have any good or bad reviews of companies to go inhouse? Culture, hours wise.

Hi guys, thinking long term about career trajectories - need your opinion on small vs big firms. Working in a boutique firm now at a junior level doing corp work - will it be hard to go to a big 4 eventually as I progress in my career or landing a good inhouse role?

Depends on whether your boutique firm is "known" or not lor. Not all boutique firms are equal

Hi do any lawyers here know where to print papers in the State Courts and Supreme Court?
I am an intern in a small firm and my boss asked me to print some pages missing from his bundles yesterday at the State Courts and when I went to the library they told me there is no printer and to go to level 3 (help desk?) but when I went there the staff were rude and I had to print each page one by one infront of the public watching me. By the time I printed the pages my boss told me to forget it as he was already scolded by the judge.
When we went back to office he asked me to do 20 pushups lol cause I just ended NS and am supposedly still fit so he felt it was a fitting punishment for me to make him lose face infront of the judge.
We have a hearing coming up on Monday at the State Courts and I just wanna know where to print if there are any places nearby in case he forget something again cause I dont wanna knock it down in the office again lmao

1. For state courts, business center on level 2 (?), you could also try yen nee book store on level 3 of people's park centre which is opposite. Perhaps call before you go to find out the turnaround time.
2. There are printers at the service bureau area at first floor sup court, you could enquire there.
3. Check your physical bundles for missing pages before leaving office to avoid repeat. Wasn't there a digital copy to refer to? So you actually did the pushups? Suggest not to describe in such detail lest your boss is also reading!

Factors to consider in no order of priority:
- Led by senior counsel
- Offshoot from local big 4 or other reputable international firm
- LinkedIn follower count and background of core partners
- Lawnet High Court or appellate case citations and other 'awards' received
Having said this, different boutiques have their own client profile and could be considered known within that niche even if they don't check all the boxes above
