GLC Same as civil service. In fact sometimes even worse. High paying private sectors are banking, oil&gas, law, medicine, Fortune 500 MNC etc...
The other jobs are about the same or worse as civil service ;civil service tries to peg their salary to the private sector.

Cannot generalize all GLC. When I was with Ascendas in my 3+ years there I got roughly $600 increment on average each year.

Please don't go shooting off your mouth. 10-15% is high even for promotion. The usual range to expect is 3 - 5%. Depending on which agencies you are in, it could be higher in the region of 7%. Again, this is dependent on your performance grade for the FY.

Maybe you were just in the wrong place in the wrong time, or maybe poor performance. 3-5% only applies to those stuck at a grade for many years and nearing max of scale.

lol so many pretenders here.

poor performance will get ZERO Merit Increment (MI). 3-5% IS the norm for MI and it depends on your performance grade. When you get promoted, u'll get both Merit Increment + Promotion Increment, and this should be between 8%-12%, or maybe a wider band, depending on the ministry/stat board.
