If I am at the maximum of my salary range but getting promotion this year, will I still get my merit increment?
I.e. is my merit increment applied on my current grade (which will be zero since I’m at the salary cap), or my promoted grade?

I traced back to my past 5 years and i notice its different but within a range every year.
Yr 1 - increased by 216 (grade c)
Yr 2 - 346 (grade b)
Yr 3 - 462 (grade b, promotion)
Yr 4 - 234 (grade c+)
Yr 5 - ?? (Grade b)

I am anticipating an increase of around $300++

That's a good question. I wanna know too

no merit increment as the merit increment is applied before promotion while the promotion increment is applied after the promotion

those lesser than half way pt get more , those above halfway pt get less

Why is it so?

so that the underpaid will close the gap faster to the person close to the max pay. since both are same job grade
