Since all the slots are filled, can we randomly apply to T&I and see if we get in? Anyone knows if T&I is easier to get in?

Do you really think anyhow applying for a division will get you anywhere? You can anyhow pass the resume screening and AC? That they are so desperate that will just anyhow fill up the places? Previous OP pointed out that the requirements for T&I is very high and hence still looking for people. Please wake up your idea. 🙄

Anyone in Standard Chartered could provide some insights to internal career mobility? For example, how easy/difficult would it be for someone in corporate/commercial banking to transfer to investment banking/financial markets? Thank you

not possible. management will object and block any internal mobility unless u decide to quit.

but i see quite some people (based on their linkedin profiles) moving across divisions. Not trying to start an argument but i would genuinely like to know why there is a mismatch in what you said and what is on linkedin. could you provide more insights please? really appreciate it!!

if they are from the graduate program, they do not secure a position after the prog. most have to actively hunt for managers to take them in, else risk getting fired after the prog ends. which is why u see people moving alot on linkedin. in reality, once you're in a specific team, scb has a strong culture of preventing you from moving even though they actively advocate internal mobility.

I was from SCB previously and tried extremely hard to move internally but was always stopped by my management, citing all sorts of reasons. In the end, when I decided to resign for another bank for the same role, SCB immediately came back with an offer to move internally. I took a pay cut when moving, but glad that I moved out of a toxic bank and management.
