Hiring Process
Hi there, sharing my journey with STE and hoping to get some advice on what i should do next
11/05/24: Accepted verbal offer from HR with salary package and told to wait for approval for hire. (No mention of clearance or checks or offer letter)
17/05/24: Emailed HR to ask how long is the approval process and told to wait for another 2 weeks.
21/05/24: HR emailed me to complete the online job application form for the role.
29/05/24 Emailed HR again to check on process and told to wait another 2 weeks.
17/06/24: Emailed HR my unofficial transcript with final GPA and was told to wait tentatively till 16/07/24 for any updates. Will be sending HR my official transcript on 02/07/24 as it's still not ready.
Should I continue waiting for the approval or start applying for other jobs now?

can start applying for other jobs if you can't wait to leave your current job.

not true, unless your doing physical work. but then again, if your a degree holder, there shouldnt be job postings that involve physical work from Ministries.
as far as i know, their medical checkup is the typical type like their doctor will use stethoscope to listen to your lungs/breathing, blood test and urine test and that's pretty much it.
unless u have something so damning like HIV/AIDS/cancer/heart problems or was PES E in your 2 years of NS, i rly dont see how u can fail their medical checks.

sorry, there's no G50 clearance form after I checked it just now. Paiseh! But yeah, is it still confirmed that I am in the midst of security clearance right?

HR did email me the formal offer with salary package. However, when asked about the estimated date of approval and offer letter, HR kept saying need to wait another 2 weeks. Don't even know if I should continue waiting 2 weeks over and over again or just go apply for other jobs.

u meant formal offer and offer letter not the same??
if i were u, so long as nth is signed on the dotted line as acceptance,
i don't see why u can't apply other places yet
just that don't apply too many
adjust the pace
if they have already given u some est. timeline for the decision, circle bck to them in a fortnight lor
