Anyone knows if there is a chance for the ministry/SB to reject your application even if you clear the reference check?

Yes, if a better candidate surfaces.
Normally, they shortlist 2 to 3.

Hey guys, feeling very conflicted right now. SB offered a package that has effectively no increment on my annual package (100-110k), in fact it will likely be lower if factoring this year's increment. Graduated in 2021 and working since then, second upper from nus. Offer was mid 6k-ish. Not sure if i should go for it? the role seems promising and interests me

if you are concerned about the annual compensation, perhaps you need to be aware that as someone around 30 years old or younger, your current compensation is already quite attractive in your age group. so if you still feel that it isnt enough for you, maybe its better if you stick to your current job

Ask yourself, do you value job security? And if so what do you value it at? 10%? 20%? That is the 'increment'.
