Do they become principals? Or join the Ministry?
If you are proficient in leading teams and have good people skills, then you might take up leadership track and progress along it. Depends on how lateral your skillsets are, you might end up crossing ministries, becoming director in HQ branch/division or take up school leadership as a VP/P/Supt.

If you are very proficient in the curriculum or pedagogy, then you can also become a lead teacher or lead specialist.

I'm considering to switch to other civil servant job or ministries. Don't even know if this is possible.

I want to do this for the sake of my health, mental wellbeing and my family.

Teaching job is no longer meaningful with all the superficial colleagues, kps and of course ranking.

Say no to everything. Survive until next holiday. Rinse n repeat until 3 years.

Superficial colleagues, kpis and ranking aren't an MOE specific issue. Wherever ministry you go you will face the same thing

There are many such instances as well where HR took the feedback and unintended consequences came about? Remember how the epms became a laundry list? How pri Sch teachers thought by voicing out that sec Sch colleagues ended the term earlier and they would too benefit from it? Turn out MOE actually made the sec school teachers stay till week 10 instead. So what I am saying is while no system is perfect, the interpretation really makes life ironically harder than what was hoped for.
So teachers should be able to get away with substandard performance? Civil servant gonna civil servant. No wonder the civil service has a rep for being lazy

Those who can't do, teach.

Those who can't teach, become specialist.

Wah so mean. But it’s quite true. I got so sick of engineering that I left to become a teacher years ago. But it’s not because I can’t do. I don’t like what engineering roles offer. I could’ve transitioned to sales, but that’s not for me either. And I can say I wasn’t that bad an engineer. Just don’t like the lifestyle and role.

Wow. Just reading all the past recent postings, I can't imagine how are the people behind are actual teachers or not. I must say you guys are quite heartless to others. Ironically, teachers! 😂
