Hi! I’m just wondering what is the difference between covering and internal appointment? Seems like my p has a different opinion towards those who are covering and those who are internally appointed. She doesn’t use eh these two terms interchangeably and will specifically highlight who is covering and who is internal.

Internal appointment holders are being groomed to eventually take up full appointment.
Covering appointment holders are simply covering the duties of the appointment holder during the time they are away, or, if the school has plans to bring in a different person to fill the position. Once the permanent appointment holder returns/comes in, the covering appointment holder will relinquish the position.

Dip holder geo 3 here. Just hit geo 3 this year. Does it mean I have to wait 5-7 years for me to hit 4? Or will dip holder progression be different? Waited quite long from 1 - 3
