What's changed is that the people who aren't promoted are more active online, making it seem like its the majority when it may not be a sizeable chunk of the fraternity

Dude.. only one person said that promotion is fast doesn’t discount the fact that promotion rate has indeed slowed down. You can see previous posts that there are still many out there who are not promoted according to the “timeline”.

my friends with at least grad degrees tend to get promoted based on the expected timeline, up to GEO4. meaning they get promoted to GEO4 at the 'normal' rate. GEO5 and beyond might depend on their performance already.
some took masters as part-timers, and some already have one when they entered teaching. apart from your performance in school, i suspect your highest qualification do play a part in promotion to a higher grade

Now in my 50s, I think this current push for schools to use more and more AI will be the main factor pushing me into early retirement.
Anyone around my age group feels the same as well?

Almost 10 years into service, I think it might be time for me to move on. I’ve let teaching take over my life for the past decade. During subject updating, I found myself thinking about the sheer number of hours I spend marking, staying back in school, and doing additional work outside of school hours. Honestly, how many of us are working long hours on weekdays and still working on weekends? There are so many things I still enjoy about the job, but I cannot keep this up if nothing changes to the workload and hours.

Progression
Just wanted to ask about progession and what possible paths I can take if school does not have openings for KP roles?
2022 Practicum - GEO 2
2023 Promited - GEO 3 (B for '22)
2024 - GEO 3 (C+ for '23)
2025 - GEO 3 (B for '24)
2026 - GEO 4 (A for '25)
I have heard that the CEP system has been phased out and to promote, you will need to take on roles. But with the MM level already so saturated even for non-IP roles, I find it quite hard to take on. Just wanted to ask for some advice. Thanks!

You should have a conversation with your RO / SL about your aspirations. Have you been told by them that there are no KP openings in your school? If so, check out the openings on offer at other schools during the upcoming APEX. If you are serious about being appointed as a KP, you will need to prepare for the interviews and be clear on what experiences and qualities you possess which make you a good candidate. Your RO/SLs would hopefully be able to support you by coaching you if you seek their help.
